Attorney
Responsibilities include:
Client Representation: Provide legal representation and counsel to clients in various family law matters, including divorce, child custody and support, adoption, domestic violence, prenuptial agreements and more.
Case Management: Manage a caseload from inception to resolution, including conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in court proceedings.
Negotiation, Mediation, and Court Advocacy: Negotiate settlements and agreements with opposing parties, mediators, and other legal professionals to resolve disputes outside of court whenever possible. When needed, advocate in family court hearings, trials, and other proceedings, presenting evidence, examining witnesses, and making legal arguments to support clients' positions.
Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on case progress, answer questions, and address concerns, ensuring clients are informed and involved in the legal process.
Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with paralegals, support staff, and other attorneys within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services and achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- 5 years of Family Law experience in Oregon
- Licensed to practice law in Oregon
- Prior experience practicing family law, preferably in a law firm setting
- Strong knowledge of family law statutes, regulations, and procedures
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and maintaining client confidentiality
- Demonstrated dedication to providing high-quality legal representation and achieving favorable outcomes for clients
